Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Communications to lead our communications efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of content creation skills, crisis management experience, and a deep understanding of digital healthcare communications. This individual will play a critical role in shaping our company's narrative, managing crises, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. The position will report to the CEO and offer the potential for advancement as the company grows.
Must be local to the Palo Alto area, have the ability to commute to the office five days a week, or be willing to relocate for in-office work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the company's brand and reputation in the healthcare industry.
- Create engaging and compelling content for various channels, including press releases, blog posts, social media, Hippocratic’s website, and marketing materials.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on communication-related matters, including crisis management and reputation protection.
- Navigate sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between communication efforts and business objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with key reporters and media outlets while managing all media inquiries effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- 5-10 years of communications experience, focusing on healthcare providers, digital health, payors, and/or pharma.
- Strong content creation skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and impactful narratives across various platforms.
- Social media savvy with a keen understanding of how to leverage digital channels to engage with stakeholders.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues effectively.
- Hands-on approach with a demonstrated desire and ability to roll up sleeves and execute communication initiatives.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop long-term communication plans that drive business results.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Experience in working effectively with outside agencies, consultants, etc.
