Overview:

Traditionally, LivePerson has leveraged numerous offshore development teams in India. Now, the company has decided to establish its own software development center in the region. Initially, this team will supply engineering resources for the LivePerson Conversational Intelligence and Conversational AI organizations. As the team grows, it is anticipated that the Indian software development center will take end-to-end ownership of certain products. To drive this offshore development center strategy, LivePerson is seeking a site leader to spearhead the team building process in India.

Given that the development center is initially aligned with Conversational Intelligence and Conversational AI organization, the site leader must possess the technical aptitude to collaborate with a diverse team of skilled data engineers, application engineers, and other technical experts in the data, analytics, and AI domains. We expect this leader to have experience in building enterprise level services that are high-performance and highly scalable.

You will:

  • Direct daily operations of the offshore development center, encompassing hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management. Build and grow a productive, motivated, and engaged team that consistently meets project deliverables.
  • Foster seamless communication between local teams in India and remote stakeholders, including engineering managers across the US, Germany, and Israel.
  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders organization-wide, ensuring that the offshore center's objectives align with the company's overarching goals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all India-related issues, facilitating efficient resolution and maintaining effective stakeholder communication.
  • Promote and establish LivePerson's employer brand in India to attract top tech talent, actively supporting recruitment endeavors.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Indian team, nurturing a culture that encourages continuous learning, innovation, and open dialogue.

You have:

  • A seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in data,analytics and AI domain, specializing in data engineering and/or analytics applications. 
  • At least 5 years of management experience with software development teams of 7 or more members, exhibiting exceptional leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven ability to build, nurture, and lead high-performing, motivated teams from the ground up, with a focus on cultivating a culture that fosters technical excellence.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working within a global organization, showcasing adeptness in collaborating with teams across various time zones and cultures. 
  • Degree holder, Bachelor's or Master's, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
