As a Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering - RF, you will build and lead a team of talented electrical engineers to deliver future generations of Shield AI products. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a variety of different engineering disciplines, including mechanical, systems, thermal, and software engineering, to establish the electrical foundation of Shield AI’s autonomous systems. Your team will be responsible for all RF related design, integration, testing, and compliance. 
The role highlights are as follows:
  • Lead the RF team with locations in Dallas and San Diego on all VBAT programs 
  • Hiring manager responsible for team growth 
  • Define RF team charter, roadmap, priorities, etc. as they pertain to VBAT product design and capabilities 
  • Establish and enforce team processes around design, test, review, cross-functional support, and regulatory compliance 
  • Regularly communicate with engineering leadership regarding RF status, risks, needs, plans, etc. 
  • Guide VBAT RF system architectures, features, technical requirements 
  • Provide technical design input/review to your team and other engineering teams 
  • Provide technical and professional mentoring to your team 
  • Engage cross functionally with product management, program management, mechanical engineering, embedded engineering, business development, and other company leaders 
  • Track team progress against program/project schedules  
  • Define RF equipment and infrastructure needed to verify RF systems in the lab and in the field 
  • As needed, find strategic 3rd party technical partners to support the team 
  • Required qualifications:
  • B.S. in electrical engineering, or equivalent  
  • 15+ years relevant industry experience   
  • 5+ years of team management experience  
  • Have worked through multiple product design cycles 
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals, particularly in RF engineering 
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor team members  
  • Strong understanding of engineering design processes 
  • Have led cross functional teams to execute product designs from concept to production  
  • You have experience with: RF system testing, desense testing, EMI/EMC, regulatory compliance 
  • Practiced in interviewing/hiring teammates  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication

    Total compensation: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity (if applicable)
    Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. Information on the benefits offered is here. All offers are contingent on a cleared background check.

    Location guidelines-
    Onsite = 5 days/week
    Hybrid = Several days in the office
    Remote = Remote but able to come to the office as requested for business needs
