Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Platform Discovery

At Profluent, we work at the intersection of AI-driven protein design and cutting-edge gene editing technologies. We are looking for a motivated and creative Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join our Platform Discovery team. In this role, you will work to advance our development of robust high-throughput workflows for engineering and characterization of novel gene editing tools.
This is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of AI-driven protein design and to work cross-functionally with a diverse team of experts across machine learning, protein engineering, cell biology, and gene editing.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the ideation, development, execution, and automation of robust platforms for characterization and engineering of novel gene editing tools.
- Develop and validate assays to measure on- and off-target activity of novel gene editing systems using a combination of targeted and genome-wide analytical methods.
- NGS library preparation, purification, quantitation, and final quality evaluation.
- Analyze data, interpret results, present findings to team members.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
- 0-5 years of academic or biotechnology industry research experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with molecular cloning and/or mammalian cell culture.
- Experience with high throughput screening in bacteria and/or mammalian cells.
Preferences (but not required)
- Experience with mammalian cell-based gene editing workflows.
- Experience with protein engineering
- Experience with process automation and scaling to develop high throughput workflows.
