Software Co-op: Web Services (January 2024 term)

Your New Role and Team
Sanctuary–a multi award-winning LinkedIn Top Startup company–is seeking a Web Services Software Engineer focused on UI/UX development. Reporting to the Web Services Team Lead, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of the design, architecture, and implementation of our platform and machine learning systems that power our general-purpose robots.

The best candidates for this role are eager to learn and develop UI/UX technical skills utilizing React, open-source JavaScript library while gaining industry experience. Ultimately, you'll be a valued part of the team as you learn and adapt to new, complex development environments and own solutions from design to deployment by expanding web services to support our web-based UI/UX for robot monitoring and control.

  • Achieve company-wide visibility as you design, and develop reusable components using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS, or other browser-based technologies

  • Your Experience
    Qualifications:
  • Pursuing or completing a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, testing, and operations
  • Ability to design, implement, and test in a fast-paced environment

  • Skills:
  • Competency in writing software in languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, C++ or similar
  • Familiarity with REST, MQTT, or other standard web service standards
  • Understanding of fundamentals of computer science, compilers and operating systems, data structures, and networking

  • Traits:

  • Compensation:
    At Sanctuary, we provide above average total compensation. Our goal is to ensure fairness in pay and we strive to make the overall package highly competitive with current market rates.

    The compensation and benefits details provided for this role in Vancouver, BC are based on Sanctuary's market evaluation and may be subject to changes in the future. Your pay within the specified range will depend on various job-related factors, such as your past work experience, relevant education, and performance during interviews or work trials.
