Axelera AI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing the hardware architecture of our products, selecting components, creating schematic diagrams, and collaborating closely with PCB layout designers to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in supporting our partners and customers with electronics integration and board design.

We offer a flexible, hybrid arrangement and, if needed, international relocation support, to work from our office in Florence, Italy.

 

Your role will mainly include the following:

·       Design

-       Designing the overall system architecture, selecting the components, and collaborating with other company functions to ensure the requirements are met.

-       Working with Circuit Designer to create the schematic diagram.

-       Working with Test and Quality Eng to improve the design reliability and testability.

-       Working with the PCB layout designer to develop the PCB project.

·       Active collaboration

-       Collaboration with the software and firmware teams to guarantee the compatibility and functionality of both  hardware and software components.

-       Support partners and customers for electronics integration and board design.

·       Test and validation

-       Conduct simulations, testing, debugging, and validation of the hardware design.

-       Documenting the hardware design specifications and procedures.

 

-       A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

-       At least 10 years of experience in hardware design for embedded systems, preferably in computer vision or AI applications.

-       Proficiency in using hardware design tools, such as Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, Xpedition, or similar.

-       Proficiency in using simulation CAD for signal and power integrity analysis, such as Altium Designer, HyperLynx, Keysight, or similar.

-       Experience in designing with microcontrollers, FPGAs, ASICs, memory devices, sensors, cameras, and other peripherals.

-       Experience in industry-standard DFT tools and methodologies.

-       Knowledge of communication protocols, such as SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, etc.

-       Experience in power management and optimization techniques for low-power systems.

-       Familiarity with 3D modelling software for component placement and enclosure design.

-       Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

-       Effective communication and presentation skills

-       Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

-       Fluent in English, both in speaking and writing

-       You are a team player who likes to elaborate innovative concepts together with your colleagues.

-       You are able to work autonomously and plan and perform research tasks.
