Data Scientist (Images)

As a Data Scientist (Images) at Jasper, you will help train and deploy generative image models to our customers, meeting the specific needs for marketing imagery. 

You will focus on state of the art generative image techniques and infrastructure for data gathering, training, deploying and evaluating in production. You will work side by side with product engineers and be a voice for what innovations are possible, advising the product roadmap by researching and building proofs-of-concept and taking them all the way to production. You will evaluate the latest generative technologies and incorporate them into our stack. You will build pipelines to train and scale up our models meeting the unique requirements of a marketing and enterprise focused image needs. You will help the team produce high quality code through rigorous unit tests, code reviews, and documentation. 

The role is open to candidates located in the US and can be remote within the United States. In this role you will work closely with teams based on the West and East Coast. 

We have offices in Austin, TX and Salt Lake City, UT with employees based across the US and Australia. We've built a strong foundation to support remote employee engagement with other teams. What you will do at Jasper:

• Train and deploy large generative image models for marketing and enterprise use cases, including inpainting, outpainting, dynamic asset resizing, background manipulation, etc. 
• Develop novel product features leveraging the most recent developments in the generative space including language, image and multi-modal applications. 
• Improve the quality and monitoring systems for our models to track, evaluate, and iterate on quality improvements.
• Partner with product engineering teams to uplevel the team's AI competencies, build novel features and leverage customer data to improve the entire application. 

What you will bring to Jasper:

• 1+ years of experience developing generative models, including pre-training, LoRA finetuning, and leveraging open source image models.
• 2+ years of experience building ML and Data pipeline architectures.
• 2+ years of background in AI, NLP, and Machine Learning.
• Strong knowledge of neural network frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, JAX.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases including BigQuery, Postgres and Firestore. 
• Experience delivering successful software engineering  projects from concept to production.
• Strong communication, ideation, and technical design aptitudes.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

Compensation Range

At Jasper, we believe in pay transparency and are committed to providing our employees and candidates with access to information about our compensation practices. The expected base salary range at offer for this role is $135,000,-$220,000 Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, competencies and certifications.
