About the team:
As digital transformation continues profiteering around the world, it is becoming ever crucial to provide a seamless, safe and compliant way to establish trust between organizations and customers they serve in the digital world, whether it is with an individual or another business.
And this trust over digital identity is not a one-off exercise only happening on digital onboarding, but remains relevant and pivotal to all other digital interactions on an ongoing basis, such for the purpose of strong user authentication, fraud prevention and sustainable compliance. We, advancers, are actively working on this mission to help establish this trust over digital identity by leveraging our unique capabilities in data, AI, and engineering to bring an end to end solution over a SaaS platform, as key enablers to grand visions of our clients such as financial inclusion, fighting financial crimes etc.
This role is a compliance guru from the broader AML/CFT space that is inspired to become part of this mission by working closely with industry practitioners and regulators to develop deep understandings of unsolved or emerging threats in this area, and provide advisory to the product and R&D team to collaboratively build up creative and innovative solutions to help
clients gain a competitive edge over AML/CFT compliance while balancing great customer experience, more broadly helping contribute to financial stability by eliminating financial crimes.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain expert knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and market practices applicable to major jurisdictions in South East Asia, exposure to other jurisdictions outside of SEA region is a
bonus;
• Work closely with representative clients spanning across different industries including Financial Institutions, Virtual Assets Service Providers(VASPs) and Designated Non-Financial Businesses (DNFBs) to develop a deep understanding of common financial crime controls, internal policies, implementation and operation;
• Regularly review AML/CFT publications and reports (regulatory disclosures, recommendation, metrics etc. ) to identify key trends, areas of opportunity and to generally stay abreast of critical AML/CFT program, control framework and governance structure;
• Participate in regional AML forums to engage with regulators and industry practitioners to develop credibility and thought leadership on best practices, case studies and trends;
• Actively engage with both internal and external AML/CFT audits, and regulatory exams to develop a clear framework on demonstrating structured transparency to regulatory audits;
• Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams, consolidate them into requirements, features and end products Communicate with senior management with product plans and roadmaps;
• Partner with internal product and R&D team to materialize best practices of AML programs covering both individual and entity as two types of identity, into our product and service offering on a continuous basis;
• Providing best-practice advisory service to external clients on AML policy and procedures related to CIP, CDD/EDD, Ongoing monitoring and regulatory reporting via case studies, white papers and seminars;
• Collect and analyze feedback from customers, internal stakeholders and regulators, and key performance metrics of products contributing to a robust AML program; consolidate them into requirements to product teams to continuously innovate on behalf of our customers.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years of AML advisory experience with financial institutions, consulting firms, or relevant regulatory bodies, preferably have a diverse background among 3 lines of defense, and are exposed to both individuals and businesses when it comes to the AML program;
• Bachelor degree or above;
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements applicable to money service businesses, payment institutions is a plus;
• In-depth understanding of, and experience in management of key AML/CFT and sanctions controls, regulatory requirements (including risk management, TRM), licensing conditions and industry standards;
• Expert knowledge of relevant sanctions regulations (OFAC, UN, etc.) and experience providing sanctions advisory services regionally;
• Excellent written and spoken communication and documentation skills in English;
• Fluency in Mandarin, written and spoken would be needed as this role is expected to work closely with stakeholders from North Asia;
• Strong leadership, ownership, presentation and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment;
• Strong attention to detail and control/quality awareness;
• ACAMS or equivalent AML compliance certification is a plus.
