Product Manager

Want to use your product management skills to make an impact? AI is the new electricity. Millions of AI engineers are needed to transform industries with AI, particularly in the realm of GenAI, and we’re building education products to train them. With a mission to grow and connect the global AI community, DeepLearning.AI is an education technology company that is empowering the global workforce to build an AI-powered future through world-class education, hands-on training, and a collaborative community. We’re a small ed-tech company with serious credentials, exciting courses, and wonderful teammates.

DeepLearning.AI is looking for a Product Manager to work with our software engineers, designers, and other internal stakeholders to create and execute the product roadmap, with a primary focus on our short course learning platform. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter who can work collaboratively and independently to execute new ideas and projects, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for AI and education.

This is a full-time position based in Taipei.
Here’s what you’ll do:
  • Lead the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for our learning products, including the short course learning platform and any additional products that may arise.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of our learner-centric products, with a primary focus on the learning platform.
  • Drive fast product development and iteration, using both soft (user interviews, empathy) and hard (metric, quantitative research) product management skills.
  • Conduct deep user and market research to understand our learner audience of developers, and help our team deepen our collective understanding to better make decisions to serve them.
  • Assist with customer discovery calls, identify learner needs, work to explore and achieve product-market fit, research competitors and substitutes, and coordinate internal and external resources.
  • Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and content creators to contribute to the creation of the platform for our globally recognized AI-driven education.
  • Here are the skills you should have:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in a STEM major from a top-tier university.
  • Ideally, the candidate will have studied or worked in an English-speaking environment.
  • Strong English and Mandarin writing and conversational skills as this role is expected to work closely with teams based in the US and Taiwan.
  • A passion for designing products that improve the learners’ educational journey.
  • Our primary audience is developers, so we expect you to be technical, and to have empathy for our audience. Ideally, you have been or are a developer yourself and are familiar with the mindsets, philosophies and preferences of the developer audience we serve. For example, we expect you to know how to code and be familiar with (and know how to use) common programming tools such as GitHub, IDEs, etc.
  • Familiarity with both the soft side of product management (user research, interviews, user empathy) and the hard side (SQL, metrics, quantitative research).
  • Basic experience with building applications using AI, at least to the level of having participated in the execution of Data Science/Machine Learning projects or implementing AI software.
  • Experience building and launching a product from scratch -- must be familiar with the 0 to 1 product management needed in a small startup, where we have to create and drive a product vision quickly with limited resources.
  • Excellent organizational skills to keep projects moving forward to meet predetermined milestones.
  • You will be expected to work out of our office located in Taipei. You will be expected to take meetings at odd times to accommodate time zone differences.
  • By working with us you will:
  • Be a part of a world-class technical team working alongside offices in different parts of the world.
  • Have the opportunity to consolidate a quickly growing startup.
  • Have access to state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology.
  • Have a competitive salary (2-3 million NTD/year) in a well-funded high-growth company.
  • Our Defining Values:
  • We care deeply about our learners: We let our learner's needs guide our actions and decisions and put our mission ahead of ourselves.
  • We are great at what we do: We strive for excellence in all dimensions, especially in the quality of the content we create and the people we hire.
  • We default to action: We are comfortable acting with limited information and taking ownership of our decisions.
  • We ask why: We ask the hard questions and are open to being in the wrong. We advocate for the best ideas, not our ideas.
  • We are honest and authentic: We are transparent as an organization, over-communicate to build trust, and share our failures just as we do our successes.
  • We do this together: We help each other grow and succeed and have fun at work, even in a remote environment.
  • At DeepLearning.AI, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy (including childbirth, lactation, and related medical conditions), national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information (including characteristics and testing), military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law. DeepLearning.AI believes that diversity and inclusion among our employees are critical to our success as a company. We seek to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. Selection for employment is decided based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
