Enterprise Sales Engineer

Position Overview

Reporting to Yash Bajpai, Ambient.ai is looking for a Pre-Sales Enterprise Sales Engineer who strives to push boundaries and develop their career daily. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Enterprise Sales Engineer eager to engage with Fortune 500 companies. You’re a hardworking, driven individual with superb energy, passion, and display initiative for new business acquisitions. 

As a key member of the Go-to-Market team, you will be the technical subject matter expert for all Ambient.ai products, including features, value propositions, deployment methods, networking architectures, and system integration methods. The Sales Engineer is involved in all sales process phases, from introductory meetings to post-sales transitions. You’ll be partnered with assigned Regional Sales Managers who manage the strategic motion, while you’ll be responsible for the technical aspects of Ambient.ai’s solution.

This role requires <20% travel for customer visits and industry trade shows. 

The impact you’ll make:

  • Become the subject matter expert for all technical aspects of Ambient.ai and other adjacent systems and technologies for the Go-to-Market team
  • Collaborate with the sales team to qualify prospective customers, understand their technical requirements, and persuasively communicate how our products address their pain points; Support sales reps with business cases and perform ROI calculations
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations and presentations remotely and in person for both technical and non-technical audiences, effectively communicating our products' features, benefits, and value proposition
  • Perform hardware installations in customer networks, including overcoming implementation obstacles by collaborating with customer network teams and assisting them in resolving network issues
  • Set up and configure customer accounts to ensure smooth execution of proof-of-concepts and effectively address the customers' use cases 
  • Establish yourself as a technical trusted advisor for key decision-makers, including technicians, managers, directors, and higher senior leadership within customer organizations 
  • Act as a feedback loop to product marketing, customer success, and product and engineering teams to influence the roadmap and act as a voice for customers 

The amazing skills you bring to Ambient AI:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with proven experience in technical sales or a similar role
  • Solid understanding of IT concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing/switching devices
  • Basic proficiency in Linux (network configuration, OS commands, and containers)
  • Previous experience with integration technologies like APIs or SQL 
  • Familiarity with cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure 
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills  
  • You thrive on complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders across various business units and have a competitive spirit to achieve success
  • You value teamwork and showcase the capability to collaborate effectively with others, making meaningful contributions to the goals of customer-facing teams
  • You excel in prioritizing your time, are self-motivated, possess sharp time management skills, and can adapt effectively to rapidly changing environments
  • Bonus: Previous experience evangelizing IoT-based applications, B2B enterprise technology, or focusing on SaaS and disruptive cloud technologies

We take a market-based approach to pay here at Ambient.ai, and pay may vary depending on multiple factors. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, level, market conditions, and internal parity. 

Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package. As a fast-growing start-up, our regular employees are also granted stock options, and an opportunity to succeed when Ambient.ai succeeds.  As a young start-up with product market fit, our stock upside is substantial, and a large part of our total rewards strategy. 

The pay scale below represents the starting base salary range we expect to pay for this position, and is subject to change*: 

SF Bay Area:  $130,000 + commission 

*From time to time, we may decide to make an offer to a candidate that is either leveled below or above this role based on skills, experience, and interview performance.
