Mission: Lead the evolution of the Ray open source project, empowering a global community of machine learning engineers with cutting-edge distributed computing capabilities. Through strategic vision, deep technical expertise, and collaborative leadership, drive innovation, foster adoption, and revolutionize the way distributed systems are utilized in machine learning applications.

As a Product Manager for the Ray open source project at Anyscale, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, development, and adoption of Ray, the distributed computing framework that is becoming industry standard among AI luminaries and rising AI stars. You will have significant depth and breadth of ownership, shaping the future of Ray and its ecosystem. This opportunity to make a huge impact for developers is perfect for a highly seasoned product leader with a deep understanding of machine learning engineering and Ray's capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Define and execute the product strategy for Ray, aligning with Anyscale's overarching goals and industry trends

Collaborate closely with world-class machine learning engineers to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into the product roadmap

Champion Ray within the open source community, fostering collaboration, engagement, and adoption

Drive the development and delivery of new features, enhancements, and updates to Ray, ensuring a magical user experience

Measure the success and impact of Ray, continuously optimizing its performance and usability

Act as a subject matter expert on Ray and distributed computing, providing guidance and support to internal teams, external contributors, and users

Stay abreast of market developments, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to inform product decisions and maintain Ray's competitive edge

Make high quality decisions quickly and efficiently and manage stakeholders to ensure that we stay focused on our key objective and metrics

Deliver crisp communication about Ray, both internally and externally

Qualifications:

Extensive experience in product management, with a proven track record of leading successful open source projects or distributed systems

Exceptional understanding of machine learning engineering principles, frameworks, and best practices

Deep familiarity with Ray or similar distributed computing frameworks, demonstrating the ability to leverage its capabilities effectively

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and collaborate with cross-functional teams and community members

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly and persuasively

Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, prioritize effectively, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Compensation

At Anyscale, we take a market-based approach to compensation. We are data-driven, transparent, and consistent. The target salary for this role is $208,000-$239,120. As the market data changes over time, the target salary for this role may be adjusted.
