The Role
AssemblyAI is growing quickly, and we’re searching for a Software Engineer in Test to join our team. As a leader in AssemblyAI's QA automation efforts, experience with Python and Golang will be essential to success in this role. You will need to have a strong understanding of software development and testing principles and be able to use these languages to design and implement test automation pipelines for our core APIs and customer dashboards. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Help lead AssemblyAI’s QA automation efforts. As a member of our dynamic engineering team, you will have the role of leading the design and implementation of our test automation pipelines and providing coverage of our core APIs and customer dashboards.
- Work on a multi-functional team. As a software engineer in test, you will work on a multi-functional team to support internal teams across all departments within the business. You will work closely with software engineers, customer support, go-to-market, and product managers to help support AssemblyAI’s key initiatives.
- Ensure AssemblyAI delivers high quality products to customers. You will ensure that AssemblyAI delivers high-quality, high performance, speech-to-text and audio intelligence via automated and manual testing.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience writing code in Python 3
- 2+ years of experience writing code and testing in Golang
- 4+ years of experience in automated testing
- Experience writing and triaging automated API tests (e.g., unit-tests, regression tests, functional tests, stress tests)
- Experience in developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate bugs, and consolidating bug reports
- Experience in driving development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure
- 2+ years of experience mentoring team members and leading projects
- Experience with Pytest
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field
Nice to Have
- Experience writing test automation for benchmarking ML model accuracy and latency
- Experience with Cyprus or Bazel
- Start-up experience
