Director, Strategy

C3 AI is hiring for a Director, Strategy, to refine and execute on our go-to-market strategy. You will be part of a growing Strategy team and will be tasked with supporting C3 AI’s go-to-market efforts that include writing proposals, developing research and analysis-driven business insights, building executive-ready presentations and industry-specific value models.

Candidates for the role are expected to have excellent written and verbal communications skills, experience defining and developing executive-ready strategy documents, and strong problem-solving skills. Candidates are expected to have an interest in Enterprise AI and experience in one or more of the following industry verticals: Energy, Industrial Manufacturing, Financial Services, Telecommunications, and Healthcare. This is a highly visible role with several executive stakeholders. To succeed in this role, candidates must have the ability to manage multiple workstreams, proven organizational skills, high attention to detail, superior time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Proposals: Lead the development of proposals and responses to RFPs, coordinating across internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Products, Services, Legal, Executive Leadership) and external stakeholders (e.g., prospective customers, business partners) to write persuasive commercial and technical content.
• Sales & Products Support: Prepare and deliver materials to support sales presentations, demonstrations, responses to clarification questions, negotiations, and contracting documents.
• Support early sales cycle Executive Engagement: Formulate and specify AI/ML use cases for potential customers, develop the value proposition and business case for the opportunities.
• Industry Research and Analysis: Develop perspectives on key competitors and market dynamics, collect intelligence on sales and product opportunities, synthesize findings, and work with senior team members to propose recommendations that shape company, product, and go-to-market strategy.
• Operational Support and Analysis: Support business development activities for new and existing products, structure go-to-market strategies for industry partnerships and analyze internal KPIs for planning and forecasting.
• Contribute to Team Growth: Work with Strategy team members to enhance existing systems and processes and recruit and develop new team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year university (minimum), MBA from a top school (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in top-tier management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or similar roles.
• Analytical mindset and demonstrated experience creating strategic plans with success metrics/goals and the ability to continuously refine the plans.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with extensive experience defining and developing executive-ready strategy documents.
• Ability to lead projects and work collaboratively across diverse teams, including executive stakeholders.
• Strong work ethic, goal-oriented, and proven track record of delivery.
• Experience with and understanding of AI and Machine Learning is preferred but not required.
