The Role:
As Cleo’s Lead Financial Expert, you will be central to enhancing our financial assistant's capabilities, ensuring it provides accurate and impactful financial advice and product recommendations tailored to our users' needs. This pivotal role blends expertise in financial advice with strategic product development to improve user engagement and financial health.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and refine financial content in collaboration with the Editorial team, ensuring it is engaging, informative, and aligned with Cleo’s Financial Health Framework.
- Partner with Product teams across to integrate sound financial insights into our coaching and product suggestions.
- Use your expert knowledge of the financial landscape in the US to inform the strategy for new financial products from ideation through to market launch.
- Collaborate across teams to design and implement financial solutions that address user needs effectively, enhancing overall user experience and satisfaction.
- Contribute to strategic planning and high-level decision-making to advance Cleo’s mission of improving financial health.
- Enhance internal understanding of financial practices and trends, raising the bar for financial expertise within the company.
About You:
- Expert knowledge of the US financial landscape, with a strong foundation in financial advising and preferably some experience in financial coaching.
- Demonstrated ability in creating impactful consumer-facing financial content.
- Experience in fintech or dynamic consumer-focused product companies is highly valued.
- Strong analytical skills, with a knack for problem-solving and strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of leading initiatives and inspiring teams.

How long will the process take?
We aim to move as fast as possible. Usually 2-3 weeks is enough time for us all to get to know each other.
- Step 1: 30-45 minute video call with a member of our Talent Team to find out more about your experience and mutual fit for Cleo
- Step 2: 1 hour with the Hiring Manager - Ferndna Dobal, Product Director - AI/Chat
- Step 3: Task exercise with two of your peers (1 hour)
- Step 4: 45 minutes with two cross-functional peers from engineering, user experience, commercial or data

If you’re an existing user, you’ll still have access to the app. But some features won’t be available (just for a little while). Why? 99% of our users are based in the US – where financial health is often overlooked. We’ve decided to shift our focus to where we can provide the most value and make the greatest impact for users who need it most. Then we’ll be able to apply what we learn to better support our UK users in the future.
