Finance Manager

Job Overview

As a Finance Manager, reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, preparing forecast and budget data, analyzing & preparing key financial schedules/deliverables, and assisting in other special reporting projects as needed. 

You’re able to strike a balance between having technical and soft skills, business model acumen, relevant stage work experience, and a growth mindset — essentially an obsessive curiosity to learn about the commercial parts of the business.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including Balance Sheet, P&L, and Statement of Cash Flows, in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and transparency in all financial matters.
  • Evaluate and optimize the company's capital structure, including fundraising, debt management, and equity financing, to support strategic initiatives and maximize shareholder value.
  • Lead the tax function, ensuring tax filing requirements are met and minimizing tax liability for the company.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, such as operations, sales, and product, to align financial goals with overall business objectives and drive operational efficiency.

What we’re seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, and treasury.
  • Experience scaling teams at early stage Startups.
  • Deadline-driven, organized, and able to multi-task with the willingness to adapt to the rapid business and organizational demands that result from a high-growth environment.
  • Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify trends, opportunities, and risks to inform decision-making and drive business results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior executives, investors, and cross-functional teams.

 

Location: Mountain View, CA

 

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $110,000-140,000 + equity + benefits (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans
