Junior Data Science Technical Writer

We are looking for a passionate Data Science Technical Writer to help us develop Dataiku’s product learning resources.
As a member of the product learning team, you’ll work towards providing an exceptional learning experience to Dataiku users, customers, and partners. As such, your primary goal will be to empower Dataiku users with the knowledge needed to successfully achieve their business and career goals using our platform, leading anyone into becoming autonomous, confident, & proficient with Dataiku.
In this role, you will collaborate with many cross-functional teams from Research & Development to Customer departments to craft online documentation, learning content, and in-product learning resources. You will also manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to decide on how to enable end users, improve their learning experience and design new learning content.
- Write user-focused documentation, including, but not limited to: how-to guides, concepts, troubleshooting, project wikis, embedded help in the Dataiku UI, and sample code.
- Develop Dataiku Academy technical curriculum, including, but not limited to: courses, lessons, quick starts, tutorials, storyboards for video production, quiz questions & solutions, and certificate examinations.
- Design and develop projects that show how to use Dataiku.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (data scientists, engineers, domain experts, etc.) and customer-facing teams to understand requirements, scope work, and develop documentation content.
- Translate complex technical concepts and components into accurate, impactful, & easy-to-understand visual aids in collaboration with e-learning graphic designers.
- Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others; mentor non-writers on how to contribute to content creation and improve their writing skills.
- Learn and constantly refresh on e-learning techniques for providing clear, understandable, and engaging content.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in technical writing, data science, engineering, statistics, computer science, or a related field; in lieu of a degree, a strong interest in data analysis, data science, and/or machine learning.
- 1+ years of experience in technical writing, product documentation, or curriculum development.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Technical knowledge and strong interest in data analysis, data science, and data engineering.
- Demonstrated project management skills to collaborate effectively with different stakeholders to identify learning needs, research technical topics, and produce learning content.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies.
Additional Qualifications
- 1+ years of professional work experience in an analytics company.
- A bachelor’s degree, Master's degree, or Ph.D. in data science, engineering, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience with content production tools such as Learning Management Systems (Skilljar), version control (Git), markup language (reStructuredText), and documentation generator (Sphinx).
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
