Legal Associate

Dataiku is hiring a Legal Associate on a fixed term contract (18 months), or a freelance mission for 18 months, to be based in Paris. We are looking for a motivated, curious and solution oriented team player. The Legal & Compliance team consists of individuals with diverse backgrounds currently located in New York, Paris, London and Singapore. We are a strategic partner for Dataiku's day to day business and passionate about supporting the growth of our company. This position will report to the Senior Director for Privacy, Regulatory and Intellectual Property based in Paris.
Responsibilities:
- Working hand-in-hand with Dataiku’s Senior Director for Privacy, Regulatory and Intellectual Property in providing legal advice on Privacy, Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property topics.
- Owning some privacy projects and workflows independently, such as reviewing supplier agreements from a privacy perspective and drafting Data Processing Agreements.
- Occasionally helping with other topics, such as export controls and French corporate matters, as well as any other EU or global regulation applicable to Dataiku.
- Drafting of legal documents such as contracts, correspondence and summaries.
- Assist with the data governance project for GDPR and EU AI Act compliance.
- Participate in corporate drafting of documents and organizing folders.
- Performing legal research and administrative tasks as and when required.
- Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
Requirements:
- A Master’s Law degree (Business Law, Data Privacy Law, New Technologies Law or Intellectual Property) and between 2 and 5 years of experience.
- Highly organized, comfortable with managing projects simultaneously and able to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with shifting deadlines and priorities; and working independently when required.
- A strong desire to learn new things and quickly apply that knowledge to specific tasks.
- The ability to professionally and efficiently communicate (in writing and verbally) complex legal and business issues.
- Project management skills would be appreciated.
- Fluent in English and French. Having another language would be an advantage.
