About the Role

We're actively seeking a skilled technical leader to develop our cutting-edge product, Frontier. This pivotal role combines technical prowess with a customer-centric approach, as you collaborate directly with internal stakeholders across Faculty to implement Frontier.

As we continue to expand our platform's reach, you'll have the unique opportunity to build a scalable AI focussed product, whilst leading the way in best technical practices. 

In this role, you'll be immersed in hands-on work, tackling complex real-world challenges using state-of-the-art technology. From optimising bed management in healthcare institutions to addressing logistics in the military and supporting sustainability goals in various industries, Frontier empowers organisations to make informed decisions through AI-driven insights.

You'll play a key role in building the product to ensure the scalability for seamless deployment to multiple customers, leveraging your expertise to build a robust application, integrate with operational systems, and craft intuitive and delightful user experiences. What you will be doing:

As a technical leader in our Frontier Solutions team, you will be leading a squad focussed on the user facing application and backend API. This role is a combination of practical technical implementation, leadership and collaboration with internal stakeholders from across Faculty to implement Frontier. This is primarily a technically hands-on role, and we are looking for engineers who want to maintain this aspect of their work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking the lead as the technical expert for one of the Squads in the broader Solutions Group, comprising Engineers, Product Designers, Data Scientists and a Product Manager.
• Working closely with the Product Manager to define the roadmap for the squad.
• Defining the architecture for the team’s deliverables.
• Collaborating across Frontier to implement new features, address bugs, and support the UI.
• Implementing the product using one or more of our primary languages - Python & TypeScript. Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Rust are also useful.

What we are looking for:

We're seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

• Proven experience leading Backend and Frontend Engineers.
• Proficiency in Python, AsyncIO, FastAPI.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, Typescript, and ReactJS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
• Strong understanding of system architecture and design.
• Experience championing automated testing strategies across various levels of the test pyramid.
• Experience deploying enterprise applications on the cloud.
• Track record of leading cross-functional teams of engineers.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers and Product Designers to ensure delightful customer experiences.
• Expertise in Docker with deployment on Kubernetes, preferred
