About the Role

As an AI Engineer at Harvey, you will develop and ship best-in-class AI solutions and iterate based on customer feedback from our users. You will work closely with our Legal Research and Product teams to build optimized systems that deliver value to our customers. We are looking for individuals with past AI / ML experience that are excited about building the agentic professional services systems of the future. 

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use an in-person work model and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

Responsibilities

  • Product Iteration: Build novel AI-native workflows end-to-end, finding the balance between state-of-the-art and pragmatism.
  • Stability: Deeply understand customer needs and identify product improvements, evaluating and improving our systems over time.
  • Large Scale Data Processing: Work with a variety of large, unstructured data sources to develop our products.
  • Prototyping: Identify new opportunities for AI solutions based on client needs, and set the direction and roadmap required to implement them.
  • Evaluation: Design and implement analytics-driven evaluation systems that enable product growth.

Qualifications

Candidates should have 2+ YoE (post-BS/MS) in an AI / ML role. Additionally, you may be a strong fit for this role if you:

  • Are excited about redefining knowledge work through an AI-native lens.
  • Are self-directed and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Communicate both low-level technical details and high-level strategic plans effectively.
  • Have experience driving long-term, ambiguous research projects to completion - ideally with significant practical impact.
  • Maintain a high personal velocity and move with urgency and agency.
  • Have excellent quantitative intuition and problem solving skills.

Compensation

In consideration of market analysis and relevant factors, the salary range for this position is set between $190,000 and $260,000. However, adjustments outside of this range may be considered for candidates whose qualifications significantly differ from those outlined in the job description. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in our equity plan and benefits program. Benefits include, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits (401k match up to 4%), and flexible PTO.
