What You’ll Do

  • Use your business acumen to ask and answer questions in all areas of the business including strategy, supply chain, sales operations, fraud analysis, product management and more
  • Support top level projects like new feature releases, fundraising, and marketing launches with data-driven intelligence
  • Collaborate with engineers, integrations engineers, and tool administrators to implement and improve data schemas and make data architecture decisions
  • Participate in monthly business reviews to research hypotheses and trends
  • Help with ad hoc requests from across the business and collaborate on a kanban board with teammates
  • Design, develop and implement data pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
  • Build and maintain data models in a DBT Github repository in a medallion data warehouse used by the entire organization
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand their analytical needs
  • Develop automated data quality checks and monitoring processes
  • Maintain a data catalog and train the organization on data interpretation and discoverability
  • Use your knowledge of Python to automate and build scripts that support business processes
  • Use your knowledge/interest in ML to develop scoring systems for customer behavior, marketing leads, fraud analysis, and more

You

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a business decision making discipline (e.g. marketing, supply chain, strategy, economics, or similar) or a technical degree (computer science, analytics, or similar) that equips you to intersect business intuition with technical skills
  • Have 2+ years of broad experience as an Analytics Engineer, Sr Data Analyst, or Data Engineer Role
  • Are interested in being part of a small super-versatile data team that does data engineering, data analysis, and data science at different times and different levels
  • Are willing to roll up your sleeves and do architecture or data cleaning work when it creates value for the business; you are not just a model trainer or Tableau charter
  • Are a SQL expert comfortable in optimizing queries and training less technical peers
  • Have demonstrated experience with data warehousing, database design, and data modeling concepts
  • Understand ETL, can maintain FiveTran or a similar ETL tool, as well as use Python or similar to write your own ETL scripts as needed
  • Have fundamental knowledge of Python or another coding language to automate and build internal data tools for business use
  • Can show on your resume and in your interview that you have led projects that drove business value or answered business questions
  • Are an outstanding written and verbal communicator who is comfortable collaborating with executives and heads of business departments
  • Have advanced data visualization skills; your deliverables are appealing, informative, and impress business leaders

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in quantitative field
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Experience with deploying scheduled scripts in Google Cloud Functions or AWS Lambda
  • Have intermediate knowledge of Python for data manipulation and data cleansing (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib and similar)
  • Basic knowledge and interest in machine learning (e.g. decision trees, cluster analysis, support vector machines) and ability to interpret output in business language
  • Experience with physical product, manufacturing, and supply chain demand planning
  • Experience with an accounting system, e.g. Netsuite or accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of APIs and endpoints to collaborate with engineers and integrations engineers to develop new data sources as needed
  • Experience building or maintaining data orchestration tools (Airflow, DBT Cloud or similar)

Salary Range Information 

Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
