Senior Java (Backend) Engineer (SDE III)

Overview:

Over the next three years, our goal is to transform the 268 billion analog phone calls between a brand and its consumers to digital on the LiveEngage platform. By doing this, we enable consumers to get back time and experience a more connected relationship with the brand in which sales, service, marketing, branches, stores, and contact center's become a unified experience.

You will report to the Senior Manager -SDE

You will:

• Own the design and implementation of significant portions of the product development, and serve as a leader and mentor for a small team of engineers in their areas of work. A commitment to teamwork, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements.
• Create a reliable, scalable, and high-performance service requiring exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and deliver high-availability and performance
• Ensure compliance with security standards
• Design REST-based backend services
• Debug production issues and help maintain existing code
• Development of technical specifications and documentation
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Work with Bots & Automation team in building next-generation bot runtime platform

You have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 9+ years of experience building successful production software systems
• Solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithm Design
• 7+ years of strong programming skills in Java with good knowledge of multi-threading.
• Expert level knowledge of Databases (SQL, NoSQL) like Cassandra, MySQL
• Experience with Data Processing frameworks like Kafka, Airflow, Apache Spark, Hadoop
• 7+ years of experience building REST APIs and debugging distributed microservice-based applications
• Experience in Kubernetes
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, and other Development tools
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs
• Experience with NodeJS & Python is a plus
