Senior Network Engineer

Overview:

As a Senior NetDevOps Engineer you will be working with Network/Tools engineering and network operations teams to create solutions to reduce network affecting incidents, improve speed and accuracy of changes, reduce manual work and also enhance network tool visibility. You will document the existing standards and develop designs to improve the efficiency of the automation solutions across all 6 global data centers and extending into hybrid cloud workloads. You will be a hands-on technician who will work in a diverse team as an integrated organizational partner, to architect, build and sustain a highly available global network, while developing cutting edge multi cloud solutions. You will collaborate with every team member in a system of lifecycle to build and promote the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. You will share your expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, configuration and maintenance of the network infrastructure components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting acquisition and deployment of solutions and services, you will be challenged in all areas of your current experience here at LivePerson. You will report to the Director, Network DevOps

You will:

  • Collect feedback and requirements from design and technical staff
  • Plan and estimate projects in agile development environment
  • Create conceptual diagrams, visual mock-ups, and manage detailed user interface specifications
  • Conduct code reviews and automated usability & functional UI testing
  • Support on-call rotation as needed
  • Collaborate with teams to reduce MTTR or production incidents through automated healing mechanisms and curating health indicators. Troubleshoot issues in real-time as part of incident response.
  • Operate in a 7x24 operational environment (working in shifts)
  • Handle stressful situations with a level headed approach
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills (English)
  • Multitask, respond quickly to multiple problems, and follows established procedures to implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and cloud vendors to define best practice adoption of cloud technology and deliver solutions

You have:

  • Have 5+ years of experience with protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF
  • Experience with Agile environments and REST and SOAP API integrations
  • Experience with Ansible deployments and creating ansible playbooks
  • Experience coding automation tests in a web application environment
  • Exposure to RestAPI, web applications testing like SoapUI, Postman, etc.
  • Experience with SDLC
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools including GIT, TeamCity or Jenkins
  • Experience modeling network configuration in JSON, YAML or YANG
  • Proficient in firewall management and automation tools such as Firemon, Tufin, AlgoSec
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX and JavaScript frameworks
  • Extensive experience with current day on prem and cloud based networking technologies (LAN, WAN, firewall, SDWAN, BGP, DNS, load balancing, VPN, etc)
  • Experience working with Open-Source software and libraries
  • Experienced in troubleshooting via tools and scripts
  • Experience with deploying IaaS, PaaS or SaaS
  • Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Compute, Network, Storage and Backup
  • Knowledge of API design and Object-oriented principles
  • Experience building sophisticated and highly automated infrastructure
  • Prior success in automating a real-world production environment
  • Experienced with application pipelines for containerized and legacy applications running in the cloud and on-premises
  • Strong knowledge in Networking OSI model and networking protocols
  • Strong scripting skills such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc
  • Awareness and use of security technologies in networking development
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Strong experience deploying and managing applications to public cloud systems
  • 5+ year on NOC/Monitoring environment - Advantage
  • Advanced practical Linux and Windows systems administrative skill in cloud and virtualized environments - Advantage
  • Strong ASP.NET, JavaScript and C# programming skills
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, puppet, Salt or Ansible in production environments
  • Understanding of Service-Oriented Engineering (SOA and REST)
  • Must be able to guide/mentor junior staff
  • Interpersonal skills to work with service owners and other departments
  • Working with Monitoring tools (Zabbix, Kibana, Kentik, AppDynamics, Nagios, etc) - Advantage
  • Relevant courses and certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc) - Advantage

Benefits:

The salary range for this role will be between $140000 to $160000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, your location, and your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications. During the phone screening, the recruiter will provide the location-specific salary range for this role.
