Software Development Engineer II (back-end)

Overview:

We are part of the Platform Enablement group. The mission of this group is to allow internal and external developers to be more productive by developing features for the LivePerson ecosystem. As part of one of the group’s teams, you will support building the APIs for non-core messaging features. These APIs support features such as media flow, profanity detection, shift status, message statistics. 

You will:

  • Produce and inspire high-quality, well-tested code that is easy to read and maintain. Use technical knowledge to build new features, maintain the platform's stability at LivePerson's scale
  • Use the latest technologies for our customers on a massive scale
  • Focus on production readiness, including root cause analysis, testing, monitoring, and documentation
  • Contribute to the team's on-call rotation to improve incident coverage
  • Work with 1-2 teams and work on essential functionalities
  • Design mid to complex-level applications and coordinate with other engineers on the team to build scalable solutions
  • Attend scrum ceremonies such as sprint grooming, sprint planning, and retrospective, and showcase technical solutions to the team

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field*
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience
  • 4+ yrs of Software Development experience in Java
  • Working knowledge of API development
  • Experience designing software solutions
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with and training other colleagues
  • Experience with CI/CD automation: testing, builds, deploying, and monitoring.
  • Drive toward professional growth and improvement
  • Experience with agile principles and corresponding methodologies
