Product Designer
You would be our first design hire for the Mistral AI team. The role is responsible for designing our product experiences from brainstorming to deployment: la Plateforme and le Chat. The role would also be responsible for Communications Design, including our website and external storytelling.
As a Product Designer at Mistral AI, you will play a crucial role in deploying our advanced AI systems by creating intuitive and human-centric products as well as supporting our Communications Design to share our story with the world. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact and push the boundaries of what is possible with AI.
What you will do:
- Formulate and drive the design vision, be an active participant in exploration, ideation, and experimentation to realize it. Ability to independently initiate and execute product innovations from inception to implementation.
- Engage in communication, adept at storytelling through written, visual, and verbal mediums. Effectively convey ideas and concepts to various stakeholders.
- Cultivate a deep understanding of our developers, fostering a product-centric mindset. Translate insights into actionable opportunities for product enhancement.
- Foster strong relationships and collaborate closely with our product team and engineers throughout the product development lifecycle. From problem identification to solution delivery, actively contribute to cross-functional efforts.
- Promote design comprehension and sensibility across the organization, refining work methodologies and design processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure UI consistency aligned with Mistral’s brand identity, making deliberate design choices and upholding a standard of excellence in product delivery.
- Contribute to the development of the design system, including comprehensive component documentation.
About you
- A self-starter who is results-oriented, resourceful, innovative, intellectually curious, and who takes initiative and risks.
- 4+ years of experience in Product Design including in all or some of the following: UX design, UI design, project management, 0-to-1 products, front-end development, product marketing, and Communications Design.
- No ego and highly committed to deliver.
- Fluent in English.
- Highly collaborative and able to balance multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Professional behavior with personal accountability, drive, and work ethics.
- Target driven, detail oriented and approachable with the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands.
