The Technical Success team is responsible for ensuring developers and enterprises are successful in building scalable production applications with the OpenAI API platform. We guide and support customers to achieve maximum benefits, value, and adoption from deploying our highly-capable models. OpenAI's customers represent a range of diverse backgrounds and maturity, from early-stage startups to established global enterprises.

About the role

We are looking for a technically savvy and business-minded founding Partner Solutions Architect to own the technical engagement with our systems integrators (both GSIs and boutique SIs) and our most strategic and high-impact platform customers, guiding them through application ideation, development, implementation, and scale to accelerate and maximize the value of what they build with our platform. You will have the opportunity to work on the most novel and creative use cases being built on our API, enabling our partner ecosystem to deliver our most complex enterprise engagements, while collecting and delivering high fidelity feedback to Product and Research teams. You will collaborate closely with the Partnerships, GTM, and Product teams, and will report to the Head of Solutions Architecture.

This role is based in our San Francisco HQ or our NYC office. We offer relocation support to new employees.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate closely with GSIs and boutique SIs as their technical thought partner to implement solutions for their clients.
• Provide proactive advice to partners to maximize business impact and accelerate time to value with OpenAI solutions.
• Experiment and develop prototypes tailored for partners and their customers.
• Build and maintain relationships with partners' technical leadership to ensure successful deployments and scaling.
• Codify solution packages and patterns to facilitate effective reselling and implementation by partners.
• Support technical training sessions and workshops for partner teams.
• Scale the Partner Solutions Architect function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing resources to internal and external knowledge bases.
• Validate, synthesize, and deliver high-signal feedback to the Product and Research teams.
• Leverage skills in Python and JavaScript for solution development.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have 8+ years of technical consulting (or equivalent) experience.
• Be proficient in Python and Javascript.
• Have built and/or delivered prototypes on top of our API platform.
• Have led complex technical projects and programs with many stakeholders, ideally within or through a GSI.
• Proactively identify opportunities for maximizing our partners’ business value through leveraging the OpenAI API.
• Own problems end-to-end, and be willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done to ensure both your team and our customers succeed.
• Have a humble attitude and an eagerness to help others with empathy.
• Have a desire to work directly with technical and non-technical partners, be a good listener and interpreter of their needs, and not be afraid to inquire deeper.
• Operate with high horsepower, be adept at frequent context switching and working on multiple projects at once with expansive ownership, and ruthlessly prioritize.
