Director of Design (f/m/d)*

YOUR MISSION

We are seeking a visionary Director of Design (f/m/d)* to lead our Product Design Department, reporting directly to the VP of Product. As the Director of Design, you will be responsible for the product design vision and strategy of Parloa’s entire AI product suite, building up a  world class design team with industry leading design processes  and ensuring the seamless integration of a user centered approach into our product development process.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Set the standards for Parloa's design on all dimensions from hiring and building out our team of talented designers, career development to general innovation and user research processes.
  • Manage and mentor a growing team of talented designers, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and design excellence.
  • Oversee the end-to-end design process from discovery to delivery to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience across all suite touchpoints.
  • Drive the evolution of our design system, establishing best practices, standards and guidelines to maintain consistency and coherence across our suite. 
  • Champion user research and usability testing initiatives to gain insights into user behavior, preferences, and pain points, leveraging data to inform design decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design innovations, incorporating new ideas and methodologies into our design practice to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate design thinking into product development processes, fostering a user-centered mindset and driving customer-centric innovation.
  • Present design concepts, strategies, and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders, articulating the value proposition of design and advocating for its importance in achieving business objective.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or related field; additional certifications or coursework in design management or leadership preferred.
  • 5-10+ years leading design teams and delivering innovative, user-centric products in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience in complex B2B environments, dealing effectively with multi-faceted stakeholders and technologies.
  • Experience in any of the following environments: high-growth environments (e.g. startups/unicorns), top-level technology companies or leading design consultancies companies.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive creative excellence, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Experience working in the AI or technology industry is a plus, with a passion for leveraging AI to create meaningful and impactful user experiences.
  • Strong communication skills in English, German is a plus.
