Data Scientist

Perplexity AI is looking for an experienced data scientist to join our small team. We believe that a deep understanding of our data, the ability to experiment, and a process built around these insights will make us successful. We want someone who can own analysis and experimentation on a rapidly growing data set, determine key metrics to track our strategic progress, build or choose tooling that enables this, and generally establish a data driven development culture.

Responsibilities:

Establish reliable and coherent metrics for user growth and experience

Work closely with engineering to set up reliable experimentation frameworks

Contribute to our development process helping us balance velocity and rigour

Continuously reevaluate metrics and data, looking for insights and opportunities

Setup data pipelines for collection and analysis

Requirements:

Track record of working with data in a dynamic, growing environment. Either in a 0->1 role or where you established a new area in an existing company

Strong programming skills, with flexibility in picking the right tool for each task

Enthusiasm and independence, with a willingness to take ownership of systems

Creativity and an eye for detail in defining and evaluating metrics

Knowing when to be rigorous and when to be scrappy

4+ years industry experience

Compensation and Benefits

Perplexity AI’s compensation package consists of: salary, equity, and benefits.

- The expected salary range for this position is $160K-$220K

- Equity - On top of this position's salary, equity will be a component of the total compensation.
