LLM Teacher

Perplexity is building the next generation answer engine, empowering our users to find information in new and more effective ways. Perplexity applies Large Language Models (LLMs) for knowledge search at scale, serving millions of users across the world. As an LLM Teacher, you will play a critical role in teaching our large language models how to behave, improving our models and thus product experience through data. You will work closely with the AI team to build high volume, high quality, and diverse datasets. You will use our in-house suite of data tools to achieve this, and have an active role in improving the next generation of AI tools. As an LLM Teacher at Perplexity, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our answer engine.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to curate diverse and high quality examples of intended model behavior

Use and improve the next generation of LLM AI labeling interfaces

Verify new models trained on the latest data improve performance. Data you create will be deployed in production environments, where millions of people worldwide will be impacted from your work

Work on increasing the factual accuracy of generated content. Define and contribute to the development of our AI's ability to generate creative, human-like, and engaging content

Qualifications

Passion and curiosity for experimenting with cutting edge generative AI technologies

Very strong attention to detail, quality focused, and the ability to stay organized

Adaptable, proactively applies logic to different scenarios, and has experience with computers and other software

Enjoys a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Native English speaking abilities or equivalent

You stay up-to-date and informed by taking an active interest in emerging research and industry trends

College level graduate at a minimum

Contractor with 8 hr/day minimum M-Fri commitment

Available to work overtime as needed

Pay starting at $30/hr with room to increase based on performance
