Technical Product Manager: Search Relevance

Pinecone is pioneering search and database technology that's revolutionizing how developers build search systems. Our managed vector database provides customers with easy-to-use capabilities that until now have only been in the hands of a few tech giants. The demand for vector databases is growing incredibly fast, and it shows in our user base. We have a large audience of ML engineers, software engineers, data scientists, and technical architects who are eager to learn and build with our product.

Pinecone is a product-led growth company. It launched its self-onboarding platform in October 2021. It is seeing significant demand and looking for a technical product manager to drive the development of the core platform. 

As a Product Manager, you will report to the head of product. You will lead development efforts and prioritization of Pinecone’s vector database. Your key objective is to drive platform adoption with improved usability, functionality, and performance of the core database platform. You will work closely with customers and the engineering teams. You will bring a sense of ownership, accountability, and entrepreneurship to your objective of driving platform adoption.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers and stakeholders to derive feature specifications and priorities.
• Write product requirement documents for new and complex functionalities and features.
• Communicate  with engineers,  architects,  and managers to ensure timely delivery and execution 
• Forecast timeline and communicate deliverables accurately to the company leadership
• Work closely with all leaders at Pinecone to accelerate our product led growth strategy

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in product management of technical/infrastructure products or features such as databases, search engines, or other cloud data infrastructure
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with cloud, distributed systems, AI / machine learning / deep learning, is a plus
