Legal Counsel – Part time position
Job Description
We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of our business. As a legal counsel your duties will include safeguarding the organization's reputation by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows law guidelines and giving legal advice. The successful candidate will effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize probability of exposure and will represent the company in transactions and interactions with customers, suppliers, partners, and competitors.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Specifies internal governance policies
- Conducts periodic compliance assessment
- Drafts and reviews the legality of transactions, contracts, agreements, and joint ventures
- Monitors updates in laws and regulations
- Coordinates with executive officers the implementation of legal strategies and standards
- Advises on complex legal matters
- Coordinates with external lawyers to assess legal issues
- Concurrently works on multiple legal issues and projects
- Identifies, analyzes and resolves complex legal issues
Education and experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Law;
- 4-6 years commercial legal experience at a law firm or in-house
- Well developed level of business experience supporting clients or advising on specialty law matters
- Experience working with tech companies – Must
Knowledge and skills
- Well developed breadth of practical legal and business knowledge
- Well-developed competence and experience in negotiating or advising on legal and business matters, or focused competency in particular practice areas
- Able to translate complex legal or factual issues into plain language communications
- English language skills to business standard preferred
- Detail-oriented and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
