Hardware Co-op: Electronics Engineering (September 2023 Term)

Your New Role and Team
Our Embedded team is looking to hire an Electronics Engineering Co-op student. Reporting to the Embedded Systems Team Lead, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of how to develop electronics and embedded systems for Sanctuary’s robotic systems.

The best candidates for this role have excellent problem solving skills and hands-on experience with building robotic systems. Ultimately, you’ll be a valued resource as you develop electronic and embedded systems for a variety of robotic systems, collaborate with other teams to create integrated systems, as well as maintain and update existing electronic systems.

  • Achieve company-wide visibility as you partner with leaders to enhance robot functionality, provide technical support and keep technical documentation updated
  • Expand your engineering experience as you support the entire electronics lifecycle from concept design, prototype build, and volume production implementation

  • Your Experience
    Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering, computer science, mechatronics engineering, engineering physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Skills:
  • Demonstrated fluency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Thorough understanding of mixed-signal printed circuit design, bring-up, and testing
  • Fluency with using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electrical engineering tools
  • Systems Engineering, Integration, and root cause analysis skills for system issues
  • Manual PCB assembly of prototypes using reflow techniques
  • Comprehensive soldering and rework abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and process documentation skills
