Software Engineer, Web Services/UI

Your New Role and Team
Sanctuary is seeking an exceptional Software Engineer to join our UI and Web Services team to help build our robot control and monitoring console. This Software Engineer role will include web services and UI design, development and testing for software monitoring, analytics, reporting, and control.

This is a highly complex system with many varying use cases and workflows, and includes extensive interfacing with the robotics team to expose and visualize the internal state and functionality of the system using video, text, 2D, and 3D graphics. Ultimately your efforts will contribute to enhancing our human-robot interface.
Our Success Criteria
  • Requirements gathering from customers (internal and external) to generate user stories and use cases
  • Work with our design partners to creation UX and UI realizations those requirements
  • Design and implement appropriate APIs between the robotics and UI teams
  • Work on 3D and 2D visualizations to integrate into our UI visualization
  • Work on video and audio streaming solutions to deliver to our UI team
  • Follow-up with customers to validate design and implementation success
  • Improve coding quality and technical standards in the systems we currently use
  • Adapt and improve our deployment environments to better support a live service in constant use while being in development

  • Your Experience
    Qualifications
  • 3+ years Software Engineering and backend development experience using Python and C++
  • Significant development experience under Linux (Ubuntu preferred)
  • Proven experience working in a mixed-background/skill environment - partnering with people of differing skills and knowledge to drive projects to completion
  • Prior project experience working with large data sets and analytics
  • Proven record of delivering complex, browser-based applications using React or similar frameworks, and a variety of backend services

  • Skills
  • Experience with AWS services, especially IAM, IoT Core, and associated security best practices
  • Experience with 3D rendering and streaming video delivery
  • Familiarity working in Robotics; ideally with ROS2
  • Familiarity with working in environment connecting cloud, software, firmware and IoT hardware together

  • Compensation:
    At Sanctuary, we provide above average total compensation that includes three components: salary, equity, and benefits. Our goal is to ensure fairness in pay and we strive to make the overall package highly competitive with current market rates.

    Equity:
    Equity will play a significant role in the total compensation for this role. Our goal is to provide a generous equity compensation package, exceeding what is typically offered by companies of our size. The specific amount of equity will be communicated to candidates upon receiving an offer.

    Medical Insurance
    Dental - 80% Basic/50% Major to combined $1,500 maximum
    Vision - full coverage for eye exam - $250 coverage for hardware - dependent every 12 months, adult every 24 months

    Prescriptions - 100% coverage of dispensing fee, 80% coverage for drugs

Your pay within the specified range will depend on various job-related factors, such as your position on our internal performance ladder, which is determined by your past work experience, relevant education, and performance during interviews or work trials.
