About the Role
We are seeking a mission-driven and experienced Commercial Counsel to join our Legal Team. You will play a key role in growing the business, through closing high value deals and providing strategic advice to internal business stakeholders at all levels of the company.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Deal-Making: Drive high-value, complex commercial transactions, with a focus on life sciences customer agreements, third party collaborations, SaaS agreements, and technology partnerships. Your passion for all aspects of the deal process and working collaboratively across the company will be key to our success.
- Agile Contract Negotiation & Review: Navigate and lead negotiations with speed, precision, and strategic thinking. Draft and manage a wide variety of agreements, including pharmaceutical/biotech collaboration deals, B2B SaaS contracts, licensing agreements, partnership agreements and vendor contracts of all types.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams—including finance, business, general managers and others —to craft legal strategies that fuel growth while mitigating risks.
- Trusted Business Partner: Serve as a thought leader and legal advisor, proactively identifying opportunities and challenges in our commercial engagements.
- Building for Scale: As an early legal hire, you will play a key role in building a forward-thinking, business-savvy, dynamic legal team. The legal team will embody curiosity, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.
About You
- You have a law degree from a top law school.
- Minimum of 5 years drafting and negotiating complex commercial deals. Contracts will range from B2B SaaS agreements with commercial customers, to channel and technology partnership agreement, to highly complex collaboration and development deals in life sciences transactions, particularly in biotech, pharma, and medical devices. You understand the nuances of IP licensing, supply agreements, complex industry partnerships, data agreements and data privacy requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
- Life sciences experience is strongly preferred.
- Intellectual property expertise is a plus.
- An undergraduate degree in STEM is valued, but not required.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $225-$290k per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and equity.
