We are currently looking for students in a wide variety of STEM fields — physics, computer science, AI, neuroscience, chemistry, cryptography, mathematics/statistics, biomedical engineering, aerospace engineering, geophysics, and more — to join our world-class team of engineers, scientists and technologists.
Job Summary
Our Global Public Sector (GPS) Team works in quantum sensing, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum simulation and optimization to address bleeding edge problems for U.S. and International government agencies. In this role you will be mentored by the Technical Director of GPS, and you will be contributing to the development of government proposals to accelerate the adoption of AQ (AI + Quantum) technologies by democratic nations in collaboration with SandboxAQ’s science and technology teams.
You will learn from teams that are inventing new technologies and crafting those ideas into compelling proposals to secure revenue streams for their development. You will be part of a diverse team consisting of physicists, chemists, biologists, cryptographers, data scientists, electrical engineers, software engineers, and others.
Core Responsibilities
- Share scientific concepts in ways that resonate with various audiences
- Design targeted communications that respond to the needs, values and cultures of an audience
- Interview scientists and engineers in diverse fields beyond your own field of study and make sense of their work
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in a technical PhD program or working as a postdoc during this residency
- Familiar with quantum mechanics and/or AI
- Written an article published in a technical media outlet (not a scientific journal)
- Written a research proposal
- Due to the confidential nature of this role and the potential of working on US contracts, US citizenship is a requirement
