About The Role:
We are seeking a Technical Program Management lead to spearhead the development and deployment of next-generation quantum navigation technology. This position is tailored for candidates boasting a strong background in regulated industries (e.g. aerospace, autonomous vehicles), attention to product quality, well-versed in a wide range of engineering demands from concept prototyping to scaling, complemented by systems engineering experience. In this role, you will oversee systems engineering, championing the seamless integration of cutting-edge hardware and software components. By partnering closely with product managers, engineering leaders, and a broad spectrum of stakeholders, you will bring our vision to life, translating it into tangible, enterprise-grade solutions. Joining our multifaceted team—which encompasses hardware & software engineers, mathematicians, ML specialists, and physicists—your expertise will be pivotal. You'll guide the design, development, testing & iteration, and integration processes with our customers, ensuring the successful delivery of our state-of-the-art quantum navigation technologies.
Core Responsibilities
- Systems Engineering and Integration:
- Oversee the holistic integration of software and hardware components to ensure coherent system development and user experience.
- Lead system-level design, verification and validation efforts to ensure end-to-end functionality.
- Partner with product & engineering leads to guide product development, from gathering user requirements, developing product requirements, and defining product specifications to ensuring traceability and system-level compliance, culminating in verification & validation of user requirements.
- Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with Product and Engineering leads to crystallize the scope, execution strategy, roadmap, launch timelines, and success metrics. Define necessary resources, workstreams, and deliverables for new products and features.
- Resource Management: Coordinate and prioritize resources, ensuring that the product vision is actualized effectively and efficiently.
- Operational Execution:
- Lead team sprints and drive customer engagements.
- Monitor and maintain all activities, tasks, dependencies, interfaces, and milestones throughout the development and delivery phases.
- Identify, mitigate, and address potential risks and bottlenecks, fostering a high-velocity engineering environment.
- Concentrate on timely releases and launches, instilling a sense of accountability within the team.
- Lead team to develop & evolve processes and documentations (e.g. SOP, design documents) to meet a high quality standard
- Work with the team to make trade off decisions on prioritizing contract deliverables vs. features on the product roadmap.
- Stakeholder Communication: Foster cross-functional alignment at the portfolio level. Streamline communications with various stakeholders, including leadership, cross-functional teams and customers, ensuring the developed products have a successful market fit.
- Customer Collaboration: Work closely with external customers as well as Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Solutions Architects and Customer Engineers to understand, align on project requirements, scope, and deliverables to drive successful engagements with our customers.
Who you are:
- Leadership: You bring experience leading diverse portfolios of intricate, multidisciplinary software and hardware product development. From small-scale “beta” releases to major product launches and customer integrations, you've managed them all, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated Experience: Your track record boasts successful product launches for both private and public sector clients. Candidates must have prior experience in building, prototyping, and deploying hardware with particular emphasis on large-scale matrixed program deliveries to external customers.
- Effective Communicator: Adept at swiftly connecting varied perspectives, you have a bias to action to drive and execute decisions with clarity and precision.
- Adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Whether it's a small team or a rapid prototyping scenario, you handle fluid situations and uncertainties with poise.
- Educationally Grounded: You possess a Bachelor's degree in fields like Aerospace, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Material Science, Physics, or related Engineering disciplines. Practical experience in lieu of a formal degree is also recognized.
- Team Collaborator: Beyond excellent communication skills, you excel in relationship-building and working cohesively within cross-functional teams.
- Independent & Driven: Self-motivated, you have the discipline to operate effectively in a remote work setting, ensuring tasks are executed with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Domain Expertise: Proven track record of building, prototyping, and launching hardware related products. Familiarity with one or more of the following domains, Cloud Computing, Network Engineering, AI, and Software Development are a plus.
- Systems Engineering Proficiency: You have hands-on experience in systems engineering, especially in interface management, to seamlessly integrate software and hardware components, resulting in cohesive product solutions. Experience in managing external engineering partners to accelerate product development is also a plus.
- Organizational Developer: Your background showcases your prowess in building, and scaling organizations while cultivating a positive team culture.
- Advanced Education: A Master's or Ph.D. in a STEM field or a closely related area is a plus.
