Founded in 2015, Shield AI is a venture-backed defense technology company whose mission is to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems. In pursuit of this mission, Shield AI is building the world’s best AI pilot. Its AI pilot, Hivemind, has flown a fighter jet (F-16), a vertical takeoff and landing drone (V-BAT), and a quadcopter (Nova). The company has offices in San Diego, Dallas, Washington DC and abroad. Shield AI’s products and people are currently in the field actively supporting operations with the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. allies.

Job Description

We are seeking an innovative candidate to manage purchase orders for commercial items with suppliers supporting Shield AI's V-BAT product line.

What You'll Do:

Effectively manage supply of commercial components for both production and supply chain (including managing purchase requisitions, delivery schedules, and RMAs)

Manage supplier's performance with support from Supply Chain leadership and cross-functional supplier management teams to ensure high quality, timely, and cost-effective operations

Proactively resolve problems and discrepancies with pricing, delivery timelines, and quality

Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., production, prototype, engineering)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

1-2 years of relevant supply chain management or material planning

Ownership mindset and ability to effectively plan and execute purchase orders across numerous suppliers

Analytical and problem-solving experience with high attention to detail

Excellent computer skills - Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience with ERP systems (Deltek CostPoint preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of U.S. DoD compliance requirements (FAR/DFAR)

Experience in relevant manufacturing industries (e.g., Aerospace and Defense, Automotive, Space, Electronics)

Total package details:

Regular employee positions: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity

Temporary employee positions: Hourly within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)

*Interns/Military Fellows/Part-time not eligible for bonus, benefits or equity
