As the Electronics Lab Manager, you’ll take ownership of the development, management, and maintenance of our electronics lab inventory and equipment while playing a pivotal role in the verification of our vehicle’s hardware. What you'll do:
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of lab equipment by identifying shortages and needs.  
  • Be responsible for completing purchase order requisitions for the EE team 
  • Support acquisition and maintenance of lab equipment based on testing plan requirements 
  • Maintain the calibration and functionality of lab equipment. 
  • Develop and assemble test fixtures to aid in prototyping and verification.  
  • Build testing rigs 
  • Create and modify cable harnesses  
  • Configure electronics for test execution. 
  • Troubleshoot prototype issues 
  • Schedule, monitor and record lab resource usage and optimize processes for maximum resource availability. 
  • Support hardware verification by executing documented test plans with the use of typical electronic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, voltage meters, power supplies, electronic loads, and PC command lines) 
  • Perform SMT solder rework of low to high-complexity, high-density PCBAs. If more complex rework is required, schedule and manage outside vendors to complete rework. 
  • Collaborate with teammates to establish safety policies for lab use and offsite testing 
  • Support training for team members regarding simple lab safety piloting 
  • Projects you might work on:
  • Repair and modify new electrical hardware to be used in prototyping 
  • Complete bench level verification test plans as needed. 
  • Manage the Electronics lab expansion 
  • Develop fixture solutions to support verification and reliability testing 
  • Required qualifications:
  • Professional work experience as a lab manager
  • Experience repairing and reworking complex PCBAs (SMT rework down to SOIC, 0402 package sizes) 
  • Experience producing high quality cable harnesses 
  • Experience reading schematics, PCB layout, and cable harness diagrams 
  • Experience with working within a share lab space 
  • Inventory control and other lab management skills 
  • Strong, clear communication, and excellent time management 
  • IPC certified technician 
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • B.S. in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience 
  • Some experience in using a command-line interface, Python or other programming languages 
  • Capable of reworking fine pitch SMT parts such as 0201 components & 0.5mm pitch BGAs 
  • Familiarity in debugging and troubleshooting prototypes 
  • Experience with the automation of test equipment

    Total package details:
    Regular employee positions: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity
    Temporary employee positions: Hourly within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)
    *Interns/Military Fellows/Part-time not eligible for bonus, benefits or equity
