Job Description:

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the electrical design, prototyping, and production of Shield AI's autonomous UAV products. You will engage cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, embedded software, prototype manufacturing, and production.  

You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving system and circuit board issues, providing design feedback, improving engineering processes, understanding full aircraft system operation, and familiarity with all aircraft supporting equipment. 
What you'll do:
  • Help diagnose, debug, and design solutions for system and circuit problems. This includes power conversion, communications, servos, GNSS, harnessing, etc. 
  • Help integrate, test, and verify various aircraft payloads (cameras, gimbals, radar, radios, sensors, etc.) 
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to drive solutions and changes to the aircraft.  
  • Propose and help drive improvements to engineering and production processes. 
  • Help triage and support design quality incidents. 
  • Provide design feedback to cross-functional engineering teams. 
  • Learn our product lifecycle management system and utilize to drive changes/improvements. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement within hardware development projects, demonstrating initiative to propose and implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and overall project success and V-Bat reliability.  
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Required qualifications:
  • B.S. in electrical engineering, or equivalent qualifying experience 
  • Enjoy problem solving and have a history of debugging circuit issues 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Skilled with basic EE equipment such as an oscilloscope, power supply, multi-meter, etc. 
  • Demonstrated track record of assuming ownership over development processes and features and delivering outstanding outcomes  
  • Proven track record of successfully shipping products, showcasing the ability to navigate through development cycles, overcome obstacles, and deliver high-quality solutions to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations in a fast-paced environment   
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working on cutting-edge autonomous robotic systems  
  • Proven background in thriving within fast-paced environments, particularly within startup or R&D settings 
  • Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and the ability to innovate under pressure to meet dynamic project demands and drive successful outcomes.

    Total package details:
    Regular employee positions: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity
    Temporary employee positions: Hourly within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)
