Senior Project Engineer (R2860)
As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Technical Program Manager in the successful execution and delivery of technical projects within our organization. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Collaborate with the team to execute projects with speed, efficiency, and quality.Assist in the coordination of project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints using project management tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and ensure effective communication between stakeholders. Communicate technical subject matter to subject matter experts, customers, and executives. Communicate to achieve various objectives such as status, decision-making, issue identification, and direction. Work within a team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists throughout the life of UAS design and integration efforts Prepare and maintain project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and technical documentation. Assist in the development of executive-level status reports for presentation to the Technical Program Manager, customers, and other relevant stakeholders. Resource and Schedule Management Assist in resource allocation and management to ensure optimal utilization of personnel and equipment. Collaborate with team members to monitor project timelines and milestones. Identify potential technical and programmatic risks and challenges within projects and propose mitigation strategies. Monitor and report on risk factors affecting project progress. Identify process gaps and work to fill them through temporary ‘tiger-teams’ and cross-functional process development. You get excited about technical and process challenges, and are the go-to person to fix problems of all flavors. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years and a Master’s degree; or 2 years with a PhD; or equivalent work experience.B.S. Degree in a STEM field. Aerospace, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Familiarity with concepts of systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software development, and control theory Extremely organized and detail-oriented Excellent verbal & written communication skills Experience with project management and technical communication. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret clearance. Ability to support travel up to 25% Demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of experience Hands on manufacturing, flight testing, design engineering, or systems engineering experience Experience working on mission critical DOD systems Experience with DOD acquisition Active or ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance #LI-AM1
