As a Staff Electrical Engineer – Sustaining, you will be responsible for supporting the electrical design and production development of Shield AI's autonomous UAV and quadcopter products. You will be the interface between engineering and manufacturing, supporting production deployment of new products, and maintaining existing product lines.  
 
System level interfacing/triaging, engaging with the aircraft, familiarity with all product support equipment. You will be responsible for improving product processes around EE hardware, diagnosing/resolving production line issues, supporting supply chain, helping to qualify new vendors for existing Shield AI products, providing feedback to design teams, and mastering Shield’s Product Lifecycle Management system. 
 
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Lead production issue diagnosis and resolution 
  • Lead bug resolution design changes  
  • Lead design improvement initiatives 
  • Improve production processes as they pertain to EE hardware 
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams on design and process improvements 
  • Triage and support design quality incidents  
  • Track risks, status, timelines, priorities, etc. Communicate upward to team leadership 
  • Proficient in our product lifecycle management (PLM) system 
  • Engineering Change Order management 
  • Engineering Change Request management 
  • Help qualify new vendors for existing Shield AI products 
  • Support documentation update requests 
  • Support component end of life replacement 
  • Required qualifications:
  • B.S. in electrical engineering, or equivalent qualifying experience 
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience   
  • Highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Have supported at least one major product in production 
  • Have experience with CAD software such as Altium or Cadence 
  • Skilled with basic EE equipment such as an oscilloscope, power supply, multi-meter, etc.

    Total compensation: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity (if applicable)
    Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. Information on the benefits offered is here. All offers are contingent on a cleared background check.

    Location guidelines-
    Onsite = 5 days/week
    Hybrid = Several days in the office
    Remote = Remote but able to come to the office as requested for business needs
