Staff Technical Writer (R2607)
The Hivemind Division of Shield AI seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, verifying, and sustaining comprehensive documentation for the Hivemind Enterprise product: a software product that enables scalable design, deployment, evaluation and iteration of autonomy architectures for a wide range of robotic platforms. Hivemind Enterprise is a highly technical software product SDKs, tools and user interfaces that satisfy the needs of multiple personae, ranging from operators of autonomous platforms, to AI and test engineers.
This role requires a deep understanding developer facing software products (SDKs, CLI tools, CI Integration, …), complex configuration systems, extensible software development kits (SDKs) and command line interfaces (CLIs).
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Be an expert user of the Hivemind Enterprise productContribute to the selection of documentation creation platforms and toolsWork with systems engineering to create programmatic links between Shield AI’s system model (created with Cameo Enterprise using SysML 1.6) and the Hivemind Enterprise product’s documentationDevise a strategy for connecting auto-generated API documentation with hand-written user guidesGenerate technical writing to describe product functionalitiesGenerate excellent diagrams and other visual aids to describe supported workflows REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or 4 years with a PhD; or equivalent work experience.Deep familiarity with multiple complex developer facing software products and their documentationDeep familiarity with frameworks used to create excellent and interactive documentation of software productsRich understanding of what excellence in software product documentation looks likeHighly proficient at technical writing for software productsReasonable familiarity with robotics and aviation conceptsComfortable working in a Linux environmentFamiliar with software engineering practices with regards to software versioning, packaging, deploymentFast thinker, fast doer, able to generate results rapidly with minimal input in order to unblock iterationExcellent communicator PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Software engineering experience or trainingExperience within the robotics industryExperience within the aviation and/or aerospace industryFamiliarity with System Modeling using SysML #LI-AM1
