Position Overview 

Snorkel is seeking an HR Business Partner to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to employees and managers, providing hands-on support across a variety of HR functions throughout the employee lifecycle. In this hybrid role, you will act as both a strategic business partner and HR generalist. 

Location : Bay Area - Hybrid - 3x per week minimum in either SF or Redwood City offices. Our compensation range for the Bay Area is $130,000 to $159,000.

Key Responsibilities

This role reports into the Director of People & Culture, and will focus on:

Business Partnership 

  • Act as a coach and trusted advisor with managers to provide guidance and support with team dynamics, employee engagement and resolving workplace challenges in alignment with company goals and values.
  • Provide partnership to managers with performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and reviews.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across various teams to understand their needs and provide tailored HR solutions, while ensuring continuity across the Snorkeler employee experience.

HR Operations 

  • Assist with core HR functions, and act as primary HR point of contact for employees throughout key moments such as onboarding, offboarding and throughout leaves of absence. This includes conducting exit interviews with departing employees to gather actionable insights. 
  • Partner with Snorkel’s People Data & Operations Manager to ensure timely and accurate employee data management.
  • Manage mail correspondence with agencies related to unemployment claims, leaves of absence and other miscellaneous queries in support of current and former employees. 

Employee Experience

  • Manage day-to-day HR inquiries, ensuring accurate and efficient responses. Act as a resource for employee concerns, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with company values.
  • Lead all-employee communications such as celebrations (holidays and anniversaries) and new hire welcomes.
  • Partner with the broader HR team to continuously enhance the employee lifecycle experience leveraging data and thematic insights from employees and managers.

Cyclical HR Support

  • Collaborate with the HR team to develop and deliver relevant training sessions and continuous learning and growth opportunities for employees and managers.
  • Assist with planning, communicating, and monitoring progress for key HR initiatives such as engagement surveys and performance reviews. Provide logistical and administrative support to ensure processes run smoothly and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in HR Generalist or Business Partner roles.
  • Strong understanding of HR fundamentals, including employee relations, HR compliance, and performance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building trust and credibility.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and trust-building skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and tools (Rippling and Lattice a plus).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations across the US - California and NY in particular.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a high-growth tech company or start-up environment.
  • Exposure to a variety of functions and roles, including engineering, product and go-to-market.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
