About the Role

This role requires an individual with a strong foundation in both public accounting and private industry experience, offering a unique blend of technical expertise and practical application. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, providing valuable insights and support to various departments. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to drive and execute technical accounting and accounting operations. You will be joining a fast-paced startup with a small team focused on GL, monthly close, treasury and payroll processes. The ideal candidate is passionate about accounting as the language of business and would like to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

This role is hybrid and will require in-person working in our Redwood City office. The pay range for this role is between $110,000 and $150,000.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews
  • Prepare financial reporting packages for statutory and tax compliance
  • Perform financial operations activities including accounts payable invoice reviews and approvals, payroll and payroll taxes, sales taxes, expense reports
  • Partner with cross functions to support internal financial systems, process improvements and automation activities
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation
  • Participate in building scalable accounting processes to support current and future global growth
  • Working with the Finance team on Financial Planning and other duties as necessary
  • Assist with year end W-2’s and 1099’s reporting and filing
  • Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as sales, operations, and management to provide financial information and analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date on current accounting regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Senior Accountant, with a combination of public accounting and private industry experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting software packages like Quickbooks Online, NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, Google G-Suite and HRIS systems.
  • SaaS B2B experience 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
