English is the global language of business, culture, and communication, and over 1.5 billion people around the world are actively trying to learn right now. Others dream of communicating with the half-billion native Spanish speakers across the globe. The problem is that it's nearly impossible to learn to speak a language without constant access to a speaking partner. Grammar and vocab apps don't really help – you need to actually converse with someone.

Speak is on a journey to fix this. We're creating an AI-powered experience that replicates the flow of a conversation, without needing a human on the other end. The goal is to make it radically more accessible to be able to have conversations in a foreign language and eventually help hundreds of millions of people gain fluency who otherwise wouldn't be able to.

We started on this journey over five years ago and we've still got a long ways to go. We're thoughtfully adding new team members only when we think they can truly play a big role in our mission.

Speak launched first in South Korea where we have quickly grown to become the top grossing education app in the country. We have now delivered this winning product to more than 40 countries globally and are continuing to expand to more markets in the coming months. The company is well funded, and as of December 2024, we've reached a $1B valuation with our Series C round, through key partners like Accel, OpenAI, Founders Fund, Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, Lachy Groom, Josh Buckley, and more. We’re a team of more than 90 based throughout San Francisco, Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, and Ljubljana.

About This Role

As Speak continues expanding its presence in Korea, Speak for Business (S4B) presents a strategic opportunity to help enterprises and organizations develop their workforce through innovative English learning. We’re currently partnering with some of the largest companies and platforms in South Korea—and we’re just getting started. To support our next phase of growth, we’re hiring a B2B Marketing Associate to help scale and execute our marketing initiatives.

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in supporting and executing marketing campaigns that drive lead generation, support sales enablement, and deepen engagement with our B2B customers. From planning offline events and webinars to managing digital campaigns and producing compelling content, you’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, and external partners to help drive business outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work closely with the S4B Marketing Lead and cross-functional teams to lead and support key B2B marketing initiatives in South Korea, including:

Event Marketing & Execution

  • Coordinate logistics for webinars, in-person events, and workshops (e.g., venue/vendor scouting, speaker outreach, attendee communication).
  • Manage timelines, vendors, and deliverables to ensure successful events.

Content Creation & Thought Leadership

  • Source and collaborate with HR/L&D thought leaders to produce co-branded or gated content.
  • Coordinate and publish high-impact sales collateral, customer-facing materials, and blog posts.
  • Work with freelance writers and designers to deliver polished and on-brand assets.

B2B Campaign Execution

  • Set up and manage engagement campaigns, including user webinars, email series, and special initiatives like seasonal challenges.
  • Maintain and grow our business communication channels (e.g., KakaoTalk S4B).
  • Conduct customer surveys and collaborate with CSMs on upsell and retention campaigns.

Market Research & Sales Enablement

  • Research HR/L&D trends, identify new partnership opportunities, and track competitor activity.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations and support sales teams with pitch-ready materials and case studies.

CRM & Marketing Operations

  • Manage CRM data, enrich lead profiles, and support automation tools (e.g., HubSpot).
  • Track and analyze campaign performance and optimize strategies based on insights.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or equivalent experience
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in marketing, events, or B2B-focused roles
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Creative problem-solver with a bias for action and high attention to detail
  • Experience collaborating with sales and customer success teams is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • A go-getter with a strong willingness to learn and adaptability to take on new challenges
  • Interest in the EdTech or B2B solution space a huge plus
  • Conversational or business English a huge plus
