Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

As a Generalist in Applications Engineering, you'll be a Full-stack Engineer responsible for building apps, tools, and interfaces that enable seamless interactions between retailers, shoppers, and internal users. Working closely with backend and data engineers, you'll design and develop Web apps and APIs, collaborating with the product team to create exceptional customer experiences. This is a full-time role and can be based remotely anywhere within the US on an ongoing basis. Standard is a remote first company. We want our employees to have the flexibility to create work habits, locations, and schedules that best fit their lives.
What you'll do here:
- Build and refine web and mobile applications for a wide range of internal and external user roles
- Be a part of ensuring our application code is flexible, maintainable, testable, and reliable
- Quickly iterate and test experimental tools to solve real user problems
- Work closely with machine learning, design, product, and other teams to make sure we’re building the right tools and experiences for our users
- Join a small team of full-stack developers, be part of architectural decisions, learn from and teach your peers
Who you are:
- Have 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer with a focus on front-end development of complex software, in a team environment
- Have built and published user-friendly enterprise web applications using React with Typescript
- Are familiar with different design libraries and enjoy the challenge of building your own components
- Are collaborative and enjoy working with and mentoring other developers through code review and design discussions
- Have some experience designing and writing service code for specific APIs your applications need (we use Python, but if your experience is something else, that’s ok!) with a good understanding of SQL and other database technologies
