As generative AI became a board-level initiative almost overnight for most enterprises, our market matured dramatically and we benefit from that tailwind. 📐 About this role

Every company grows differently, and we grow when we help our customers identify how generative AI can transform their business.

As one of our first Mid-market growth account executives , you’ll drive expansion by initiating evaluations with our current customers/prospects focusing on departments we aren't currently in, as well as getting to CMOs and CIOs who are thinking about their larger strategy for generative AI. You’ll need to be able to map complex organizations to identify where Writer could add value, break into new lines of business, understand our customers’ objectives to tie what we do to business value, and have an evangelistic spirit.

Your positivity, sense of curiosity, business acumen, and ability to create champions from early adopters in the AI writing space will help shape our entire culture. If you have a builder mentality, this is the role for you.

You'll be reporting to our Head of expansion.

🦸🏻‍♀️ Your responsibilities

  • Hunt for net-new business within existing accounts

  • Become an expert in the wide range of use cases in which Writer can drive business transformation across different industries

  • Map complex organizations to identify the most promising areas of focus

  • Demonstrate how generative AI can further leaders’ most important business initiatives

  • Develop a deep understanding of our users and why they are exploring Writer

  • Become a trusted product specialist, educating users on how to set up Writer to unlock value, going hands-on where needed

  • Guide prospects through trials with clear criteria for success; pull in key stakeholders early and help the team reach Buy consensus

  • Lead champions through their internal budgeting, legal, security, and procurement processes

⭐️ Is this you?

  • 6+ years in a B2B SaaS closing role, currently focused on 1000+ FTE companies; extra points for experience selling to leadership in marketing, product, IT at Fortune 500 companies.

  • Proven ability to successfully cross-sell and expand within large accounts.

  • Ability to map accounts and proactively drive self-sourced expansion by initiating evaluations with departments we aren't currently in, as well as getting to CMOs and CIOs who are thinking about their larger strategy for generative AI

  • Demonstrable, consistent performance meeting and exceeding quota

  • Experience helping prospects build a business case to secure executive sponsorship

  • Experience with value-based selling (but still know the product almost as well as CS 🤓)

  • Experience working with legal, security, and/or procurement teams to win deals

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong sales process: you're thoughtful about how to make sales repeatable for yourself

  • Comfortable asking the tough questions, working cross-departmentally, and working under high pressure

  • Record of building strong and lasting customer relationships

  • Extremely organized and self-motivated; a detailed note-taker

  • Self-starter; we’re well ahead of most companies at our stage, but we’re still building parts of the plane as we fly it. You’re comfortable finding solutions wherever they are available, living in the ambiguous, and helping ideate on and document new processes

  • Knowledge of editorial processes a huge plus: if you edited your high school newspaper or majored in English Literature, can you pretty please apply?
