Capture and Proposal Manager

Modern Intelligence is seeking a Capture and Proposal Strategist to drive opportunities for our go-to-market team in the national security space to include applications in intelligence, defense, and other Federal Government mission areas.

Modern Intelligence leverages proprietary advances in information and complexity theory to build holistic “One Artificial Intelligence (AI)” solutions for defense. We are easing the burden to assess activity in the maritime domain at scale and automating the ability to understand the operating environment.

We’re looking for an experienced and innovative capture and proposal professional to play a crucial role in our development efforts to expand our reach across the DoD and IC. You’ll leverage your domain expertise by developing and executing strategy for new customer acquisition and authoring powerful proposals and market research insights that influence and win contracts.

You’ll lead a cross-functional process while maintaining the autonomy to triage competing priorities across multiple lines of effort. You will use your eye for detail, creativity, adaptability, writing, and communication skills to convey our capabilities and value proposition to potential customers. We are looking for a utility player who can own and shepherd a business development opportunity from idea to delivery and is comfortable working in a highly technical and fast-moving environment.

As an early hire, you will have the opportunity and active encouragement to grow into leadership and supervisory roles as the company grows and expands.

Your Accomplishments and Skills

3+ years of related work experience writing technical proposals and navigating government proposals.

Have intimate knowledge of government contracting strategies and budgetary cycles.

Ability to distill robust technical AI/ML concepts and differentiators through clear, concise, and compelling written and verbal communication.

Immaculate proposal writing skills and consistent attention to detail.

Strong project management skills and familiarity working in undefined areas.

Ability to bring together multiple perspectives and stakeholders in pursuit of joint opportunities and/or partnerships.

US Citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance is required.

Your Impact

Identifying and Qualifying Opportunities: You will collaborate with the development teams to engage long term opportunities and execute capture, pricing and outreach strategy through proposals, white papers and other documents. You are familiar with the procurement tools to identify applicable growth endeavors. You will gather market intelligence, conduct competitive analysis, and map out federal customer requirements.

Proposal writing: You will quarterback the entire proposal process. You will work cross functionally with product, engineering, and development teams to distill technical requirements and draw direct correlation to our product offerings that align with Modern’s business strategy. You will own the proposal process serving as a primary author and project manager on Market Research, RFI, and RFP responses. You will be proactive to provide deliverables and written responses for potential leads as part of broader partnership and teaming.

Content Creation: You will create and compile a robust content suite of business products to include proposals, graphics, and presentations that can be used to advance our company messaging to customers and the broader community. You will set the standard for proposal templates and curate our customer facing materials and target how we tell our story to gain awareness in the government space.

Engagement: You will engage the broader National Security industry to understand the landscape and engage in thought leadership surrounding procurement and acquisition. You will map stakeholders and offices to engage and most importantly, influence development objectives based on your findings to position Modern Intelligence to win partnerships and gain customer interest.
