Your Impact

As Pinecone’s first HRBP, you’ll be doing exactly that, playing a crucial role in supporting the Go-To-Market function (Sales, Marketing, and Field Engineering teams). You will shape Pinecone’s future, by serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to our business unit leader and her leadership team,  aligning HR strategies with business objectives, nurturing talent, providing guidance on talent management, employee relations, and organizational development initiatives. 

Working from our SF office 2-3 days a week, you will build strong relationships with employees at all levels - from ICs, to Directors and VPs, and up to our CRO, enabling you to maintain a pulse on employee sentiment and proactively identify areas for improvement. In partnership with GTM leaders, you will drive employee development, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and a top-notch employee experience

Extensive experience supporting GTM and Sales teams in a fast-paced tech environment will help you thrive in this role. We’re looking for someone who has a strong perspective but holds it lightly, is data-driven, and enjoys scaling organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Build trust and credibility with leaders in the Go-To-Market team by providing strategic HR partnership, consultative support, and data-driven insights to drive business objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Go-To-Market team's goals, challenges, and talent needs, and collaborate with leaders to design and implement tailored HR solutions.
  • Proactively engage with employees at all levels, fostering open communication channels and actively soliciting feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as a champion for company culture. 
  • Partner with the broader HR team to drive talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and compensation strategies aligned with the Go-To-Market team's needs.
  • Members at all levels and locations should feel supported, challenged, engaged, safe and empowered to contribute at their best. 
  • Create internal communications and activities that promote a positive culture of collaboration, autonomy, empathy, inclusion, and excellence.
  • Participate in cross-departmental HR initiatives as needed, not limited to those supporting the Go-To-Market organization.

Your Expertise\Skills:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a dedicated HR role, including at least 4 years as an HRBP 
  • Experience in high-growth startups
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Go To Market functions, especially sales teams, and partnering with Senior Leadership (VPs and C-suites). 
  • Experience influencing decision making, based on strategic objectives and a hands-on attitude 
  • Proven track record of quickly building rapport with employees and leadership 
  • Working knowledge of multiple disciplines, including compensation practices, employee L&D and manager training programs, DEI initiatives, performance management, and US labor laws, as well as recent changes and trends in employment practices
  • You thrive on autonomy, move fast,  can wear multiple hats, and challenge the norm
