Job Summary
The Sandbox team is looking for a PostDoc resident to help design and analyze the next generation of cryptographic constructions. Candidates with backgrounds in all areas of cryptography (in IACR terms: PKC, FSE, CHES, TCC, RWC, …) are encouraged to apply. In particular, we are both interested in candidates with an applied/implementation background and candidates with a more theoretical background.
A successful candidate will be comfortable with the design and construction of post-quantum cryptography, with the cryptanalysis of post-quantum primitives and/or the design of cryptographic protocols in a post-quantum world.
They will be part of a diverse team consisting of cryptographers, mathematicians, ML experts, and physicists, where they will play a key role in efficient and effective enablement of the technologies being developed.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and analyze new post-quantum cryptographic primitives or protocols
- Present the work to broad audiences from academic to industry
- Work closely with the engineering team to integrate research outcomes into the product portfolio
- Potentially implement and validate cryptographic constructions and/or protocols
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Cryptography or Mathematics, Computer Science or related field with a strong focus on cryptography
- Successful track record in the field of cryptography
- Strong background in post-quantum cryptography
- Understanding of cryptographic protocols, practical constraints for cryptography, recent developments across the field.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in C, C++, Rust, Golang or Python/SageMath
- Experience contributing to open source projects
- Knowledge of formal methods applied to cryptographic implementations
